Francisco Burzi vendió en octubre de 2007 el proyecto phpNuke (no sabemos ni a quién ni por cuanto).

Pero según comenta el propio Francisco Burzi en el correo que envió a los usuarios, los nuevos propietarios no estan cumpliendo los acuerdos pactados y ésta situación le está perjudicando por lo que aprovechando la situación acaba de crear un nuevo sistema de gestión de contenidos llamado: Smeego del que hablaremos más adelante.

Hello;

I’m writting to you because you were or you are user of PHP-Nuke and for me is important to inform the community that PHP-Nuke has been sold on past October 2007. I need to inform you about this because the new owner failed to meet the agreement we had to inform the public at a certain date and this is starting to negatively affect me.

After I sold the project I wanted to start another activity but soon I realized that programming is my life. Few days ago I opened another web site and started a new Content Management System or Portal System that is initialy based on the latest version of PHP-Nuke.

The new project name is Smeego and you can find its official website at http://smeego.com

I want to give to Smeego another focus. The first version is already available for download and I fixed lot of stuff, did some code cleanup and changed all the default themes including some that are very nice.

Smeego open a new market if you are a developer. You can code modules, themes and blocks for it and offer them to the users community.

The system and the website itself are more open that PHP-Nuke. For example, the commercial license is gone, the sell of the latest version is gone as well and the software is totaly free of any charge. The site isn’t overloaded with ads, comments are open for registered users… etc…

Being the first version I have lot of interest that people start using it, suggesting ideas and features, send fixes if they find bugs on the code, etc…

Smeego will focus on the intelligence of the system and the graphic design. Smeego is released under the terms of the GNU/GPL license as well.

I want to cordialy invite you to check the official site at http://smeego.com and leave your opinion and if you like what you see I’ll be more than happy if you use this new code on your commercial or non-commercial website. Many cool stuff will come in the future for Smeego!

Remontandonos a los orígenes de los Nukes que partieron del desaparecido Thatware del que surgió tras una bifurcación phpNuke (Octubre de 2000) quien se convirtio en el CMS más popular y más utilizado principalmente por comunidades de clanes de juegos y comunidades de intercambio de archivos p2p, debido principalmente a la facilidad de uso así como la incorporación de multitud de opciones,

A partir del 2002 de phpNuke surge una nueva bifurcación dando origen a PostNuke (Julio de 2001) quien va tomando poco a poco el testigo aunque manteniendo una excesiva similitud, por lo que al año siguiente surgen 2 nuevas bifurcaciones de PostNuke dando origen a eNvolution (Agosto de 2002) ya desaparecido y a Xaraya (Septiembre de 2002), las diferencias en estos momentos radican en los motores gráficos, mientras PostNuke permanece fiel al sistema tradicional y a un nuevo sistema conocido como AutoTheme, eNvolution opta por Smarty con un sistema similar al origen de Xanthia en PostNuke, así como Xaraya, sin olvidarnos de una de las últimas bifurcaciones que dió origen a  ixprim-cms (Febrero de 2004), justo en plena decadencia de los xNukes que empieza a mediados de 2003.

Hemos visto como los xNukes han ido arrasando en el mundo de los CMS hasta hace unos años (mediados de 2003) en los que se han visto superados por otros CMS como WordPress, Drupal y/o Joomla, siendo PostNuke el único que trata de recuperar el terreno perdido con su nueva versión en la que probablemente cambien de nombre ($NewName) para desvincularse definitivamente de los xNukes y entrar en la nueva era de los CMS.

La salida de esta versin de PHP-Nuke ha tardado ms de lo esperado, debido a las modificaciones detalladas que se le han hecho a esta versin. Desde www.nukeprojects.net nos hemos tomado el tiempo para traducir completamente PHP-Nuke y corregir los posibles errores que pudiera haber tenido. En esta nueva versin de PHP-Nuke encontrars un instalador SQL que, mediante un asistente web, te permite configurar los datos de tu Servidor de Base de Datos y tener tu PHP-Nuke instalado al momento de subir tus archivos.
